CasaCaro is a place I made to share images I love, interiors I love, and pieces I have found.

INSPIRATION
Anne Menke, Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, 2001
What are the images or themes that we return to over and over again? Why do some elements of design hold our attention and not let go? Why do we gravitate and latch onto some things and not to others? Some of these elements seem unanimously adored, while others are peculiar and unique to each separate human being. For as long as I can remember I’ve had a love of white eyelet anything. I think it’s the detail and the purity in the thing, or maybe it just has a supreme prettiness that so far I can’t find matched. The same for me is true to materials in interiors. Working under a designer with unfailingly good taste I have been lucky enough to be exposed to and learn my tastes in the design world. I love Coralina, shell stones, cerused wood, sometimes deep shiny mahogany elements. I like patterns, but usually ones that are delicate and don’t overpower the things they dress. I have learned that architecture is the most important, laying the good bones of the home, without which it doesn’t matter how many beautiful things you add, it’s never quite the same as a classically measured room with sensible proportions.
